Local planning ignored the minRowsRequested hint, so simple LIMIT queries (no filter, or one fully answered by partition values) planned the whole table. Planning now stops once the returned files are guaranteed to produce the requested rows, making planning time for these queries independent of the number of manifests. Only files without delete files and with an always-true residual count toward the hint, since only their record count is exact; the hint is ignored when residuals are ignored. --- AI Disclosure - Model: Claude Opus 5.5 - Platform/Tool: Claude Code - Human Oversight: fully reviewed - Prompt Summary: Make local scan planning honor the Scan.minRowsRequested hint by stopping once planned files are guaranteed to cover the requested rows, with tests.
