I'm not sure this would be worth doing. I don't really think we should bias our design towards what the Spark Session Catalog supports because in my experience it tends to be the secondary choice in most systems. I'd probably just keep things as is. I think we could support defaultDatabase as a config key but I think we shoul keep the current parameter as well and just have defaultDatabase be a first fallback. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
