I’d like to work on this issue as my first contribution to Iceberg. I reproduced the problem on current main with Spark 4.0.4, 4.1.4, and 4.2.0: - On Spark 4.0/4.1, `SHOW COLUMNS` and both `ANALYZE TABLE` variants fail with planner errors for Iceberg V2 views. - On Spark 4.2, named catalogs handle these cases correctly, but `SparkSessionCatalog` falls back to V1 commands and reports `TABLE_OR_VIEW_NOT_FOUND`. I propose supporting `SHOW COLUMNS` and returning clear unsupported-operation errors for both `ANALYZE` variants, while preserving temporary-view behavior. I would leave `REFRESH TABLE` for a separate follow-up. Does this scope sound reasonable? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
