I'm not convinced that we want to add narrower types more generally. There's obviously some mismatch in cases where narrower types are used, but this is typically in tables converted to Iceberg (as opposed to natively created tables). I think there may be use cases with respect to vector, but I'm not supportive of just adding more types especially when the justification is largely from incompatibilities with non-native converted data. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
