I ran into this too and would like to take a shot at it. Looks like upsert
builds the join off the old schema, so new columns aren't found. My plan is to
resolve fields against the current table schema and add a test that adds a
column and then upserts. I saw a few earlier PRs got closed, so happy to hear
what you'd want done differently. Does that sound right?
