On `AlreadyExistsException` from `create_table`, `HiveTableOperations` now runs the strict commit status check instead of failing and deleting the new metadata file, so a request the Hive client resent after a lost response keeps the table its first attempt created. The status supplier compares the UUID of the table under the name with the committed metadata's UUID; the metadata location is not enough because a commit on top of the new table moves it and `write.metadata.previous-versions-max` can evict it. Closes #18423 Test plan: `TestHiveCommits` covers each outcome: the resent create finds its own table (commit succeeds, files kept), another writer took the name (`AlreadyExistsException`, new metadata file deleted), and the check fails with an exception or an `Error` (files kept). --- **AI Disclosure** - Model: Claude Opus 5.5 - Platform/Tool: Claude Code - Human Oversight: fully reviewed - Prompt Summary: Stop `HiveTableOperations` from deleting the metadata of a table that a resent `create_table` created before hitting `AlreadyExistsException`, deciding by the table UUID. The code change, the tests, and this description are generated; the choice of the UUID check is the author's. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
