**What** Reduce sorting allocations in MemFS `WalkDir`. **Why** The comparator split both paths into slices on every comparison. **Implementation** Compare path segments directly with `strings.IndexByte`. Keep root-first and component ordering. Add focused `WalkDir` benchmarks. **Benchmark** Local comparator benchmark with 5,000 paths: about **2.2x faster**.
