This was closed by the stale bot. I can't reopen it myself — the API rejects it on my side. @anuragmantri @RussellSpitzer could one of you reopen it? The work is current, not abandoned: I have it rebased on main (243 commits, no conflicts) with core and Spark 4.1 tests green, and I'll push that as soon as the PR is open again. While rebasing I also found that new Spark work now targets v4.2 (defaultSparkVersions moved to 4.2 in "Spark: Move 4.1 as 4.2"), so I'll port the planner option to v4.2 in the same push.
