Encrypted-key JSON serialization creates a temporary Base64 byte array and String for every key. Write Base64 directly through the JSON generator while preserving the standard alphabet, padding, and lack of line breaks. Generators with native binary support retain the string representation expected by the parser. An isolated, warmed parser probe with JDK 21 and Jackson 2.22.2 saved 2,792 allocated bytes per 1 KiB key payload across three JVM runs for both UTF-8 and Writer output. Compatibility coverage compares Writer and UTF-8 output with the existing JDK encoding for empty, padded, and buffer-spanning payloads, and verifies that native-binary generators still round-trip the field as text. --- **AI Disclosure** - Model: GPT-6 - Platform/Tool: Codex - Human Oversight: unreviewed - Prompt Summary: Reduce allocations in encrypted-key JSON serialization while preserving existing encodings. The parser changes and their tests were generated by Codex. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
