+1 I wonder if this could be made more general by introducing a configurable window/interval parameter to the time-based transforms, rather than adding a separate transform for each granularity. bucket(N, field) already supports something like this. For e.g., if a table is currently partitioned by day(ts), & wants to bucket into X bins, one might also want to effectively scale the partition window by X to reduce small files.
