### Apache Iceberg version 1.9.2 ### Query engine None ### Please describe the bug 🐞 The iceberg specification don't say explicitly what symbols are allowed to be used within Namespaces, Tables and Column names. From our tests only `#` symbols is causing errors within the Java Iceberg SDK but other are passed thru. The specification also states that it's Iceberg Schema is represented using Apache Avro schema which has very strict name policy https://avro.apache.org/docs/1.8.1/spec.html#names . In result it makes confusion : - what symbols can be used? - what symbols have spacial meaning ? - what symbols in names are disallowed as they may break future compatibility ? ### Willingness to contribute - [ ] I can contribute a fix for this bug independently - [x] I would be willing to contribute a fix for this bug with guidance from the Iceberg community - [ ] I cannot contribute a fix for this bug at this time -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
