   ### Feature Request / Improvement

It would be valuable to introduce a JDBCMetricReporter for Apache Iceberg to
report table metrics into an external JDBC-compatible database (e.g., Postgres,
MySQL). This would help organizations implement data governance, lifecycle
tracking, and compliance monitoring.

   Use Case:

   - Track table-level metrics: snapshot counts, file sizes, last modified
time, etc.
   - Monitor usage of maintenance actions like expireSnapshots,
rewriteManifests, etc.
   - Build dashboards or alerts for stale snapshots, non-expiring tables, or
orphaned files.
   - Enable long-term metric retention for auditing and policy enforcement.

This feature would make it easier for data teams to operationalise
governance policies and monitor table health over time.
