I just hit this issue when trying to create a basic Flink app with an Iceberg catalog, and there is no straightforward workaround, apparently. The repro is very easy: run Flink docker image, upload a jar that tries to initialize an Iceberg catalog via SQL, and you're going to hit this error. This issue basically makes onboarding with Flink and Iceberg very difficult, and there is no plan to solve it or an easy workaround. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
