I'm more than a little hesitant to start changing this now. Pivoting the way we think about sessions/scopes doesn't really add a lot at this point and we've just completed a major refactor of the auth, so I think we should let the new interfaces/implementations settle out in the next couple releases and see if this is even worthwhile.
