@punyashah yes that was an issue, but if I was submitting jobs to that spark cluster. In the above example I was running the application on it's standalone cluster. Nonetheless, I changed it to `eu-west-1`. @steveloughran I tried setting the `spark.hadoop.fs.s3a.endpoint.region` to `""`.
