I think this is a valid issue and is most likely happening due to how the codebase determines what a metadata identifier is: https://github.com/apache/iceberg/blob/main/core/src/main/java/org/apache/iceberg/BaseMetastoreCatalog.java#L117 It will just take the last piece of the identifier and see if that matches a metadata table type. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
