Yes, it's a shame that a bug like this ended up in the release. About 2 weeks before a release, we ask the community to help us test the new release so we can find and squash last-minute bugs that have been introduced. I invite you to join this process. The code for the fix is also there, so you could build your own custom version to bridge the time until the next release. The community does not create patch versions, but there are parties that provide commercial agreements that can help you. This software is built together with its community.
