Istvan Toth commented on HBASE-29024:
-------------------------------------
I am fine with keeping memcached in the assembly, now that we have confirmed
that it is a live-ish component.
I am not a huge fan of profiles for the assembly. My expectation is that all
but established power users use the released binary assembly, and we should try
to provide something that works OOB for the majority of users (while keeping
dependencies and CVEs minimal).
I have data that HBase-rest and HBase-thrift are widely used. There is also an
open ticket to move them to hbase-connectors eventually.
I'm going to close this now, and open a ticket for the optional flag.
