I'm building/running a non-R Docker image and I get warnings about an unset
variable:

$ archery docker run conda-cpp-valgrind bash
[ ... snip ...]

WARN[0000] The "R_UPDATE_CLANG" variable is not set. Defaulting to a blank
string.
```
