You have probably got that install all screwed up. Just because you
could not get the Console working you trashed everything and went back
to a 1 month old tape?? From the limited info you have given I think
that was a big mistake. You may indeed have license issues but you may
also be having encryption key issues too. Unless your database has
collected some priceless traffic, I would uninstall all ISS apps and
start over. You could have RSSP reinstalled within 30-60 minutes and be
done with it. Then just start with a fresh database. Your existing NS
and SS systems should check in if you do it right.

>From the sound of your email it also sounds like you may need a little
training in this arena. It will probably help you in the long run. Don't
ever ever go back to a full tape restore unless you call ISS tech
support first. They may have been able to save you all this hassle.

Subject: [ISSForum] Lic. problem

Hi,

I have 5 Network Sensors and 5 Server sensors in my Network. The lic
has been obtained for 6 Network Sensors and 25 Server sonsors. I had
installed the internet scanner application also in the sme machine but
i uninstalled the same. After uninstall the Siteprotector was not at
all working. I was not able to login to the console. So i had restored
the system with the old backup(Vertias netbackup).I had done a full
restore, even the registry. The backup was a month old but within that
period ( from backup to failure)i had added 3 more Server sonsors to
the system.
Now the system shows lic violations.
can anyone help me out. A quick response would be of appreciable help to
me.

regards,

ramesh
