I built my Remote Access background image with Paint, but you can use any graphic program. My image size is 30 x 15 inches, or 2880 X 1440 pixels. This covers 100% of the screen, but I only use a small part of it.
Select a color for your back ground, then only insert the basic shapes, no text. The text can be added by the Remote Access map editing. The value in adding the text to the top layer is that you can change it, and move it whenever you want. I added fine lined boxes that I would indentify through using Text in the Map editor. I also found that I could get graphics from the interent, and paste them into the background image. You can easily draw floor plans, and then add the computers, phones, and other hardware with Remote Access map edit. When working with your own background, be sure to work at 100% on both. It is the only way to make any logical conclusions about spacing, distance and size. To use the image you create, just slect Edit map, then Map settings, then background. select the Plus symbol and add your image to the background, it will instantly appear. You may have to make adjustments at first, but it is easy to do. If yoiu use paint, or any program that will let you use a grid to line things up, it makes for a very easy way to make things look good.
