I used MinGW in the past as I hate that bloated VS/MSVC. When Qt switched to Chromium/WebEngine, I got stuck with MSVC on Windows unfortunately.
The last Months I read a lot of Stuff about Clang and that it made some progress on Windows. Thats the only reason I keep looking to make my daily MSVC usage a little easier in the long run.
