Before Trolltech was called Trolltech[*], it was called Troll Tech. Before that, for a couple of days, it was named Quasar Technologies, which was the initial name. As you can tell from the initial name, Qt actually predates the company. It started during Eirik Chambe-Eng and Haavard Nord's master thesis.
