No. It's not needed, and not possible anymore. The compiled "helpers" were used with non-Python enabled versions of GDB, including Apple's GDB, which is gone. > I don't find this option anymore... > > Any ideas what else to check? Check that the Kit you are using indeed points to LLDB, if it does and it still doesn't work I'd suggest to create a bug report and attach the Debugger Log (contents of right pane of Windows->Views->Debugger).
