Hi, To me it sounds that you have problems with your Internet connection. can you actually piong one of the mentioned hosts? Also please take the proxy arrangements out if you can. Maybe they are causing your network problems?

I am sure it is not exactly "cannot connect to nokia.com" as that would be too obvious but more details might help. In any case I cannot reproduce this error using the mapviewer example. I get the same error “Failed to read nokia map version”. Dragging the map did not make any difference. It ends with qml:network error in application output. The second time around it is gone. I get the same message when I remove the entire QtLocation cache (in my case ~/.config/QtLocation) directory. My guess is that your problem is related to the missing app_id and token. Nokia maps require them. You should also get another warning like: >Error message:Qt Location requires app_id and token parameters. >Please register at https://developer.here.com/ to get your personal >application credentials. Or did you mean to say that you do set the values (but just left them out from your mail) but still don't get any tiles?
