Hi, There is currently no API to generate a thumbnail from a video. However we plan to add support for this in the future, see https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-33332. The posterUrl metadata you mentioned is available only when the video container supports metadata and only if the attribute has been set independently from Qt.
