There is no reason at all to think it will be deprecated. It is a nice
self-contained framework that finds use in all sorts of places.

Even if you would consider the worst case - which would be that Qt
removes state machine support - then you're still safe during the
entire Qt 5.x series. They'd have to deprecate it first and nothing is
going to be removed in 5.x.
So you're safe :)
