Hi Duane, currently I use QtSingleApplication for years under different Windows and Linux platforms - even with Qt5 there should be no reason, why this approach shouldn't work.
The buggy behaviour with starting the app by an app from desktop and console is new to me - so this bug should be fixed, instead hacking a workaround. So I'll test this bug with the current solution - if the bug still appears, we can (we MUST) open a bugreport for it. Using the shared memory just implies other comparable problems and I'm afraid that this approach just causes other problems, which are already solved in the proven QtSingleApplication.
