Hi,

I commissioned a deeper investigation into the scope of work required for Qt to
work fully on Windows 8. I will receive the full review of this investigation
early next week. I will make sure to share this detail with everyone as soon as
I am able to.

Thank you,

Chuck

According to the WTL page on Wikipedia[1], WTL is built on and for the Win32
API; and from everything I've heard from Microsoft on Win8Win32 won't be
allowed to work in Metro, only the "Legacy Deskop" environment. Where as WinRT
is used for Metro, and allows a very small subset of Win32[1], especially if
you want to target Win8 on ARM.

That alone is a big difference; and if one wants to use Qt and native for Win8,
then Qt will have to be rewritten for WinRT support.
