Just by chance I stumbled across this article: http://www.heise.de/developer/artikel/Parallelprogrammierung-mit-C-und-Qt-Teil-3-Plattformunabhaengige-Audioprogrammierung-1576739.html It is in german (only, AFAICT), and it shows how to use the platform-independent audio library "JACK" together with Qt. "I don't know Jack" (pun intended), but I could imagine that it provides some (basic) audio filters as well, and the article shows how to integrate it with Qt.
