The last version available from sourceforge gives a message that write events aren't supported on Linux when we ported from Windows. At any rate, I was able to download the latest source from code.google.com as per Samuel and Andreas instructions. I built it and it doesn't seem to have this limitation. There was a problem with lastError() not being defined. It was listed under issue #50. I defined it to return lastErr as someone on that issue link suggested and it seems to be working.
