Hi Jason,
You are right. I renamed the ~/.conf/Nokia/qtversions.xml and that solved the
problem that the qt creator was hanging on to nonexistent Qt SDK files.

Thanks,
Zen

I'm just joining this, but my guess is you have settings in your user profile.
Try from a new user account.

Subject: Re: [Interest] Building Qt from Sources

Hello again,
I have removed from this computer all previous attempted installations of Qt
SDK, qt 4.8.0, and qt creator.
Created directories on a local disk, unpacked

qt-everywhere-opensource-src-4.8.0.tar.gz
and
qt-creator-2.4.1-src.tar.gz.

Finally build the qt 4.8.0 first then qt creator. Both built without errors.
Designer works fine. When I start creator I still get messages as before. It
still seems to know about the Qt SDK. How could that be?
No matter. Trying to remove (clean up) references to these in
tools/Options/Build & Run/Qt Versions.
Apparently I don't know how to do this. I assume that I should highlight one
of the broken items and then press Remove button. Unfortunately, Remove
remains stubbornly disabled. The "Clean up" button has no effect.
Also, /opt/qt/qt-4.8.0/bin/qmake, which I used to build this qt creator was not
listed there. I added it manually. Attached is a snapshot of the dialog.
My feeling is that the installation (build) procedures became so automatic and
so smart that they no longer work correctly.
Do I need to reinstall the RHEL6 operating system on this computer to have a
chance of a clean installation of the qt 4.8.0 and qt creator 2.4.1?
This is frustrating!
Thanks,
Zen
