It seems that I was unlucky in my choice of example scripts -- I found
single backslashes only. Now I use the following script, et voilà, it
works as desired.
require "fileinto";
require "imapflags";
if address :contains ["To", "Cc"] "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
{
addflag "\\seen";
fileinto "INBOX.foo";
}
