Yes, it worked. :-)

After I reconstructed all mailboxes, I switched to 2.3.1 binaries
(plus the patch from S. Matter for the deliver crash), and everything
started fine, without any error.

PS: I am however still surprised by the garbage that came into some
mailboxes ; this 2.2.12 installation has less than one year of
production use...
