In /etc/cyrus.conf it should be: sasl_sasldb_path: /path/to/sasldb2.db (Why don't you use the default path /etc/?) man imapd.conf -> "sasl_option: 0 Any SASL option can be set by preceeding it with "sasl_". This file overrides the SASL configuration file." And the SASL option is "sasldb_path".
