We've had a few complaints from people who are using MS Outlook as a mail reader about pop-up messages for quota warnings. Apparently, once usage exceeds 90%, the pop-up messages appear so frequently that the application becomes almost unusable. Is there anything that can be done, either in Outlook or Cyrus, to make this feature less disruptive?
We had this same problem. I can't remember if it was Outlook or another email client, but it was exactly what you describe.
We decided to move the quotawarn to 100% (basically turn it off). I wrote a perl script to get everyone's quota at midnight and send out warning emails for those over 80%.
