I've cyrus imap running beautifully on a RH 8.0 box right now but I'm in a situation where I need to move the operation onto another RH8.0 box.
The immediate error that comes up in /var/log/messages is:

That's not an error. Just ignore it.
followed about 20 seconds later with:

Probably you have different version of Berkeley DB on the two machines. Your safest course of action is to follow this advice:
