I have found this in my /var/log/auth.log:
pam_tally: pam_get_uid; no such user test

it seems that pam_tally just uses /etc/passwd and can only use this file

are there any other solutions to lock down imap users after 3 attempts ???
I use cyrus + openldap

thank you

Patrice

Hi,

I would like to lock some accounts if password is not validated after 3 attempts
my system is cyrus-imap + openldap

I have installed pam_ldap , and now my saslauth is done through pam_ldap and it is working.
but I haven't found any help to implement the lockout ... is it possible to make it work with openldap ??
and what would be the configuration ?

thank you very much for your help

Best Regards
Patrice
