Two options -- link /dev/urandom to /dev/random (poor).  Or recompile SASL
with --with-devrandom=/dev/urandom

Another option is to set allowapop: 0


If pop3d (or pop3proxyd) is slow in providing the banner, its because its trying to generate a challenge for APOP. Disabling APOP should solve this.
