I have not been able to get the master process to stay running. This is from /var/log/imapd.log

Debian linux with a 2.4 smp kernel. cyrus-imapd-2.2.3, or cyrus-imapd-2.1.16 db-4.2.52 cyrus-sasl-2.1.17 openssl-0.9.7c all but the kernel were built and installed many different times and ways - none worked. I am also unable to get saslpasswd2 to enter any users into /etc/sasldb2. Just says generic failure. Sort of how I feel right now...
