hi everybody, i try to install cyrus (Cyrus IMAP4 v2.1.13-IPv6-Debian-2.1.13-2) from a debian package and still have a problem to connect to cyradm using "cyradm --user cyrus --auth login --server localhost".
i receive this error: Login failed: generic failure at /usr/lib/perl5/Cyrus/IMAP/Admin.pm line 118 cyradm: cannot authenticate to server with mech login as user cyrus i'am using saslauthd / pam. i have a test-util (/usr/sbin/testsaslauthd) that tells me sasl2 is running fine - that meens the authentification of the user 'cyrus' using pam against saslauthd seems to be ok. imapd.conf: =========== allowplaintext: yes sasl_mech_list: PLAIN sasl_minimum_layer: 0 sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd sasl_auto_transition: no syslog ====== Dec 5 18:30:03 cfmxdb cyrus/imapd[691]: accepted connection Dec 5 18:30:06 cfmxdb cyrus/imapd[691]: badlogin: cfmxdb[127.0.0.1] plaintext cyrus SASL(-1): generic failure: checkpass failed auth.log: ========= Dec 5 18:29:55 cfmxdb perl: No worthy mechs found Dec 5 18:30:06 cfmxdb cyrus/imapd[691]: cannot connect to saslauthd server: Connection refused anyone any hints ?
