hi! sorry for the delay in giving you feedback on the performance of the modified murder setup.
we activated the new setup ( 2x murder backend, 2x murder frontend, 4x
smtp ) by the end of last week.
with the smtp load gone, the murder frontends perform very well. load
varies between 0.5 and 1.5, even in busy hours.
the backend's performance values didn't really change. the load still
varies between 2 and 6 with peaks rising up to 12 in busy hours.
i'm thinking of equipping each frontend with an ldap replica for user
authentication to reduce the load on the backend ldap servers.
the mtas perform very well with their local ldap replica. system load
varies between 0.5 and 1.
