Its possible that the seen state database is corrupted and that is was is causing some folders to show all new messages as read. You could test this by moving your seen state database out of the way temporarily.
Bingo! Thanks Ken! With the new DB, it works correctly.
I suppose users will not be overly happy with a new seen db. Is it possible to repair a corrupted seen db?
