We have some kind of - problem.
We try to understand HOW the different SASL plugins are ordered when doing an announcement (. CAPABILITY).
The problem arises (again) with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express.
Outlook breaks when "AUTH=NTLM" is not the FIRST method announced! It gives me an error saying "DIGEST-MD5: authentication failed" in Outlook (sure, Microsoft products only handle GSSAPI, NTLM and plaintext).
It is nearly impossible to describe how much crap these apps are :(
Does anybody have an idea on how to change the order of the announcement?
The list is generated by the SASL library on the fly, and I think the order is determined by how the plugins are loaded. I'm not sure that you change the order in any kind of consistent way.
