And mmap is broken in some linux kernels for some archs. I couldn't get it
to work properly on hppa a week ago, for example.  But configure detected
the problem about 50% of the time and complained very loudly :P

I doubt it is broken in 2.4.18 for ia32, though.

Oh, btw. ia64 portability patches will be going to the bugs address soon.
Gotta love the Debian autobuilders and extensive arch support...
