My MUA, Apple's "Mail" app for Mac OS X, is unable to check my IMAP folder hierarchy for new messages: you have to manually click on each folder to see if there's recent mail in it. A friend of mine running Mail with the UW server (I think) reports no problem.
It looks like the reason is that the UW server supports the undocumented nonstandard SCAN command, and Mail (wrongly) depends on that (apparently pine does too). Very annoying, but not really Cyrus' fault. Anyway. Are there any plans for Cyrus IMAP server to support the SCAN command? Also, I heard that SCAN was under discussion in the appropriate IETF group.
