and
touch /var/log/auth.log

imapd does not create the files if they dont exist

I did the same as described in the online documentation:

/etc/syslog.conf
local6.debug                            /var/log/imapd.log
auth.debug                              /var/log/auth.log

But there are no logs, instead I find logs about imap in the messages
file, this is because of the following entry:

*.*                                     /var/log/messages

Does anyone why I can't see any logs where they should be?
