We are an ISP with offices in Missouri, Arizona, Kansas, and California with a userbase of over 15,000 email accounts. We process approximately 150,000 emails per day using Sendmail 8.12.2 -> LMTP -> Cyrus deliver 2.1.1. We have had considerably good luck with this environment. 15,000 mailboxes is not a gigantic number of boxes, but if it gives you an idea of performance, I hope it helps. We use one dell poweredge 6300. It has 2 Pentium III-xeon processors running linux red-hat 7.1 kernel 2.4.17 and 512Mb of RAM. Our system load never goes above 0.30. These are very rough benchmarks and by-no-means definitive (your mileage will vary). I just thought some specs would help. Thanks!
