hashimapspool: false
            If enabled, the partitions will also be hashed, in addition to the 
hashing done  on  con­ figuration  directories. This  is recommended if one 
partition has a very bushy mailbox tree.
"

I think that this option is what you're looking for. (it does 
to /var/spool/imap/users  the same than to var/imap/user )
so your problem will be solved.
