Hello, i remember using the standard vacation and also procmail for these purposes. I guess that the main reason, why lmtpd needs information about the recipient, is to avoid that vacation messages are sent to mailing lists. And then it seems very unlikely to me, that a users mail address differs just in the upper/lower case from a mailing list name.
